Survival swim lessons Nixa, MO — Tiny Fins Survival Swim is where it all started — and it remains the heart of everything we do. We teach children as young as 6 months old the swim-float-swim technique through gentle, one-on-one instruction designed to give them the skills to save themselves in the water.

At Tiny Fins, every lesson is one-on-one. Your child will never share their instructor’s attention with another student. Our certified instructors get to know each child’s personality, comfort level, and learning style so they can adjust every session to fit your child’s needs.
We know the water can feel scary at first. That’s why our approach is gentle — lessons feel more like playtime than drills. It’s completely normal for children to cry during the first few sessions. Most kids bond with their instructor between lessons three and six, and before long, they actually look forward to getting in the pool.
Building Real Skills Through Muscle Memory
Depending on your child’s age, they will attend lessons multiple days a week for the first 24 to 28 lessons. After that they will transition to once a week maintenance lessons to maintain and build upon the skills they’ve learned. During this time, your child will build the muscle memory to roll onto their back to rest and float when they’re tired, then flip back over and continue.
Around lesson 24, your child will complete a 2-minute float test. This is important because most children who fall into the water are found within 2 minutes.
