Located at 3001 E Cherry St, our Springfield location brings the same proven swim-float-swim method to families across the metro area. Children as young as 6 months old can begin learning the skills they need to survive a water emergency.

Private Lessons, Personal Connection

Every survival swim lesson at Tiny Fins is completely private — just your child and their dedicated instructor. No group classes, no distractions, no waiting for turns. Your child receives 100% of their instructor’s focus for every minute of every session.

Our instructors take the time to understand how your child learns. Some kids jump right in, others need a slower start — and that’s okay. Our gentle teaching style meets children where they are. A few tears in the beginning are perfectly normal, and most children are excited to see their instructor by the end of the first week or two.

From Nervous Beginner to Confident Swimmer

Around 24-28 lessons. Your child will learn to swim, roll onto their back to float and rest, then roll back over and keep moving toward safety. These aren’t theoretical skills; consistent and focused practice drills them into muscle memory and maintains them through ongoing maintenance lessons.

The program ends with the 2-minute float test, where your child demonstrates they can keep themselves safe in the water without assistance. It’s one of the most rewarding moments for parents to witness. Learn more about the full process on our swim lessons page. Morning and evening lesson times are available to fit Springfield families’ busy schedules.

Why Springfield Parents Choose Survival Swim

Every year, drowning claims more lives of children ages 1–4 than any other cause. It happens silently and in seconds — in pools, bathtubs, ponds, even puddles. Puddle jumpers and water wings feel safe, but they teach children to be vertical in the water, which is the opposite of what saves them.

Survival swim lessons in Springfield, MO at Tiny Fins teach your child how to actually respond if they fall into the water unexpectedly. Whether you live near Fellows Lake, have access to a neighborhood pool, or just want one less thing to worry about — this is the investment that matters most.
